It's been a while since we started in that little kitchen in Sausalito, tried to open a shop on Union Street in San Francisco and started to sell our breads in the farmers' markets.
Things have changed in the meantime. We moved into our new bakery in Larkspur and we are just starting to serve as a neighborhood bakery with our rye breads but also with german rolls and pretzels and a variety of cakes. Here's a secret tip: if you come around to the back of the bakery you can buy our breads there, too. Warm rolls and pretzels will be sold at 7:00 and 11:00am, directly from the oven, so you can take them home and start the day with a delicious European Breakfast.
Even though we don't have our Union Street Location anymore, we have not given up selling our breads in San Francisco. We are at both WholeFoods stores in the City and at the Rainbow grocery and more stores will follow.
I know we don't feature our full range of bread there, but the ones that people like most: the Grains & Seeds, or the awesome Whole Grain Bread scented with oranges, which was just voted the best bread in 2004.
We are proud to announce: Lucy's Best Black Bread got a recipe make-over. It's not as crumbly anymore. After the day you bought it, you will actually be able to slice it. ;-) We also skip the molasses now. the sweetness comes from the long baking process alone. It's a real Pumpernickel. Lucy's is also available at WholeFoods and Rainbow. Give it a try you're going to love it.
Our website is about to be finished. You probably already noticed the new look and yes, there is an online store.
